WBNA (West Broadway Neighborhood Association) Commercial District Branding & Wayfinding Project — Business Community Meeting
Event description
We are seeking public involvement in identifying and branding a portion of the neighborhood as a commercial district to represent and support the distinctive retail shops, services, hospitality establishments, and nonprofits who operate their businesses here. Examples of similar projects include Federal Hill branding on Atwells Ave and, more recently, the 195 District Park Downtown and Ives St in Fox Point.
Why Wayfinding?
Wayfinding connects people to and through places and experiences.
Benefits of branded wayfinding:
• Guide people to places they seek
• Provide a cohesive identity for a specific area
• Bring awareness to places they may have missed
• Find parking areas
• Reassure visitors they are on the right path
• Orientation and navigation
• Knit a community together
• Create connection between the place and its audience
Buena Gráfica Social Studio will facilitate community engagement sessions to share what your needs, aspirations, and challenges are as a neighborhood resident or business owner. Together we will develop a placemaking strategy that supports and attracts local small businesses, improves pedestrian safety and walkability, and fosters a sense of community.
