Sunday Skillshare Series 2026 (Warrane Community Garden)
Description
Pollinator and Other Beneficial Insect Walkshop
Join us for a walk around the garden to learn about pollinators and other beneficial insects.
There are 120+ species of native bees in Tasmania, are some of those in our garden?
Insects that help control my pests feed on flowers in my garden?
How do I make a ‘hotel’ for my native bees?
Increase your insect identification skills. Learn about different pollinators and how they contribute to the pollination of our crops. Along with practical tips on ways, we can promote and conserve pollinators and other beneficial insects in our gardens.
If time allows, we will also learn more about a key resource to promote insect diversity – native vegetation by hearing more about the native revegetation work that has been happing around the garden.
The day is suitable for anyone (old and young) interested to learn more about bees, wasps, flies and beetles and the plants and nesting resources they rely on.
Please note- this walk around will be on uneven ground and rough pathways within the garden. This is a free workshop delivered by entomologist and NRM officer Dr. Yolanda Hanusch organized by Warrane Mornington Neighbourhood Centre & Warrane Community Garden.
