WE ARE CHEESEMAKERS Book Launch
Event description
*Please register below as this helps us plan and prepare to host you*
Join us in Whitby as we cultivate a space for the Literary Arts with the book launch of WE ARE CHEESEMAKERS. We will gather to remember and listen to stories about the long and slow journey of migration along with sampling a chef-inspired recipe for paneer.
Navjot Kaur will captivate you with her ability to weave complex themes into accessible narratives. We Are Cheesemakers is no exception, offering a gentle yet powerful exploration of the hopeful dreams of migrant workers and the importance of food in connecting communities, so they too can find a place to belong.
The wonderful illustrator, Parmeet Arora Bori is hoping to be at the event and we will be thrilled to host her.
About the book:
We Are Cheesemakers brings issues of food and climate justice to the forefront, continuing the mission of Saffron Press, to move little citizens of change to reimagine big, global ideas with care and compassion.
A young family is forced to leave the land they love in search of a new home. Poisoned soils and dried up rivers have made farming impossible. Mummī and Papa hold onto cherished memories, humble ingredients and the heritage craft of cheesemaking.
