The City of Santa Monica and Sustainable Works are proud to present: We Are Guardians Film Screening and Panel Discussion 

The Film

From Academy-Award winning producer Fisher Stevens (The Cove), We Are Guardians tells the story of Indigenous forest guardians fighting to protect their ancestral lands in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest from relentless invasions and deforestation. As more and more people illegally invade their lands each year, devastating centuries-old forests for resources and fast profits, these small groups of guardians risk everything to protect their forest and way of life. Now, as the health of the entire Amazon teeters at the edge, will Brazil and the world take notice?

• Take the Big Blue Bus. BBB Routes to Laemmle Monica Film Center: 5 and 8 provide more direct service, with stops on Santa Monica Blvd. at 3rd St. Additionally, Big Blue Bus Routes 1, 2, 3, Rapid 3 and Rapid 7 provide routes that stop near Santa Monica Blvd. and 4th St.
• If you must drive, try to carpool.
• Bring your reusable water bottle! Water will be provided by the City of Santa Monica.
• Please discard sustainably at the Zero Waste stations, this is a zero waste event!
