Event description

They say that “comedy is tragedy plus time”. Join us for an evening of laughter and inspiration as ordinary people share their extraordinary tales of overcoming life’s toughest moments. These storytellers will take you on a journey through events that once seemed insurmountable, only to find humor and resilience in the aftermath. From embarrassing mishaps to unexpected twists of fate, these stories will remind you that sometimes, the best way to heal is to laugh at the absurdity of it all. Come and be part of a show that celebrates the people’s ability to turn tragedy into comedy. We Can Laugh About It Now is hosted and produced by Ade Ajayi and features local storytellers from DFW. The March 22 show features Garcetta "G Baby" Garci, Lin Woodson, Kate Greathouse, Melanie Robinson, and Chichi Omeoga.

More about the Host:

Ade Ajayi
is one of Sade’s biggest fans and is waiting for the band to tour again. While waiting, she produces, hosts, and performs. She produces a monthly improv jam that focuses on bringing black performers together and growing the number of black improvisers. We Can Laugh About It Now is one of her favorite shows to produce. If you are interested in telling a story reach out to @adelaughs on instagram.

More about the Storytellers:

Garcetta Garci aka G Baby is a West Texas native and a sassy belle whose roots run deep for family, church, conservative observations, and sinuous discourse of social behaviors. Her love for acting, comedy, and writing, keeps her entertaining people on screen, stages, or in grocery store lines. Since there’s no business like yo business, follow @G_Baby_og on Instagram to see what she’s up to next!

Lin Woodson is an accountant-turned-technologist, a potter, an empty-nester mom, and an aspiring poet. She's also a graduate of Stomping Ground's improv training center and a rabid fan of the theatre's mission (and the arts in general). She attends over 100 live performances annually. For the past five years Lin has lived out a daily intention to every day learn something new or do something scary. Oh, and she thinks you're beautiful.

Kate Greathouse
is a Dallas-based comedian, playwright, and producer who loves to share the absurdities and joys of life with an audience.

Proud Alabamaian, Melanie Robinson, hails from the Magic City and as such, believes there's magic in everything - especially you. She performs regularly at Stomping Ground Comedy and occasionally across the continent. Like the Shamwow, yes, you have seen her on tv.

Chichi Omeoga
is a talented singer, actress, and writer hailing from Minneapolis, MN. Since relocating to Dallas, she has captivated audiences in a variety of productions, including Dreamgirls at Theatre Denton, Evita at NTPA Repertory, and as a comedic improviser at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater. She also brought music to life as a choir member in the Grand Prairie Arts Council's production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Chichi is excited to blend her love of performance and writing into this storytelling debut. With dreams of one day starring in a sitcom, she remains dedicated to discovering new ways to merge acting, singing, and storytelling.
