We Can Laugh About it Now
Event description
They say that “comedy is tragedy plus time”. Join us for an evening of laughter and inspiration as ordinary people share their extraordinary tales of overcoming life’s toughest moments. These storytellers will take you on a journey through events that once seemed insurmountable, only to find humor and resilience in the aftermath. From embarrassing mishaps to unexpected twists of fate, these stories will remind you that sometimes, the best way to heal is to laugh at the absurdity of it all. Come and be part of a show that celebrates the people’s ability to turn tragedy into comedy. We Can Laugh About It Now is hosted and produced by Ade Ajayi and features Taylor Brown, Holly Bagwell, Milo Michelle Wilder, Aiden Fitz, and Angela Vaughn.
Ade Ajayi likes to blend comedy, storytelling, and community engagement. She brings fresh voices and perspectives to the Dallas comedy scene. We Can Laugh About It Now uses storytelling to share personal anecdotes and dissect societal quirks, inviting audiences to find humor in life’s toughest moments.Â
Taylor Brown is a Dallas native and proud mom, who has always been deeply involved in the arts. After years of performing in stage plays, she is now transitioning into storytelling and comedy, driven by her passion for versatility and creativity. Taylor loves engaging with her community, using those experiences to enhance her social awareness and bring fresh, relatable narratives to her audience.
Holly Bagwell is celebrating her 40th anniversary of communicating with the male gender. In “ Blue Crayon” she revisits where it all started. She has been doing comedy performance and writing since 2010. She thanks Ade for inviting her to the show, everyone at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater, and Joe, the coolest kid she ever met who reminds her every day that she still doesn’t know what to say to “boys”.
A Texas-born military brat Aidan Fitz finds the funny in being bisexual, dating, family, and nerd culture. Starting comedy in 2019 in Shreveport LA, Aidan has been featured at DCC, Plano House of Comedy, and Backdoor Comedy Club where he is a regular host.
Milo Michelle Wilder is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and has been exploring performance their whole life, ranging from murder mystery acting, Disney princess impersonation, theater performing, and playing guitar in a family band. Milo graduated from the Stomping Ground Improv Training Center in 2022 and since then has loved the magic of improv, especially of the musical variety.Â
Angela Vaughn is a theatre artist who is committed to the exploration of theatre in unconventional ways, including how it can be used to educate and heal, especially in marginalized spaces. “Theatre is a weapon. For that reason, it must be fought for.” She has worked as an actor, director, teacher, and intimacy coordinator in and around the Dallas area. She also teaches workshops and does private coaching. Angela teaches neurodivergent middle school and high school students with Stomping Ground’s Improv for Life program.  She is also an instructor and performer at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater and helps lead the monthly all-black improv jam. Currently, Angela is pursuing her master’s degree at Lesley University to become a licensed drama therapist. Angela is a wife, mom, and a proud Chicago native.
