Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who can attend?
We Grow is open to all ages, keiki to kūpuna! Day 1 is focused on youth policy and advocacy, we invite high school and college youth with their adult mentors or allies to register. Day 2 is designed as a conference-style event with both youth and adults leading sessions and is open to attendees of all ages, students, educators, school administrators, non-profit organizations and interested community members.
  • I'm an educator, what should I expect to get out of We Grow and how can I participate? We Grow is designed to honor and celebrate our keiki. As such, Day 1 is focused on youth voice at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol. We invite educators who are chaperoning students or wishing to volunteer to register. For Day 2, most sessions will be student-led allowing youth to use their voice to share their knowledge, understanding and perspectives with other youth and educators like you. We will also have a few sessions run by fellow educators. If you are interested in presenting, please complete the presenter form. Please consider attending and helping us to celebrate our keiki advocating for better food systems and food system education.
