'We Were Just Children' Film Screening - Christchurch
Description
Be among the first to see We Were Just Children, a compelling new film featuring intimate portraits of Holocaust survivors who rebuilt their lives in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Through powerful exchanges between survivors and New Zealand teenage interviewers, this film uses innovative AI storytelling to bring to life the precious testimony of memory, resilience, and quiet heroism. Specifically designed for young people and grounded in local history, the film connects past stories to the present, reminding us why standing up early against antisemitism, hatred, and prejudice is everyone’s responsibility.
Join us for this special screening followed by a unique opportunity for discussion and reflection. We are honoured to be joined by 91-year-old Holocaust survivor Bob Narev, along with Kristopher Clancy, Education Director (Holocaust Centre of New Zealand), Violetta Dacre (Rangi Ruru Girls' School), and Raphe Dacre (Christ's College).
Please note: The venue will be released to all ticket holders 24 hours before the event. If you have any questions, please contact educdirector@holocaustcentre.org.nz
