WEAD Salon: Jean Chen
Description
WEAD SALON SERIES
WEAD Salons are an opportunity to gather, mingle and appreciate the talent of one featured artist. Intimate, informal, with tea, cakes and good cheer provided by the team, they are a great way to get connected into the West End arts community.
Jean Chen
Jean Chen is an artist and writer. For over 25 years she has created art using tattoos, watercolors, ink, computers, yarn, and cookies as mediums. After a career as a tattooer, she ran Inkblot Gallery in Alameda and taught cookie and cupcake decorating workshops at City College of San Francisco. She currently writes for the Alameda Post.
rs of the American West. Meg lives and paints in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What to expect
Come and enjoy "high tea" with the WEAD team and other attendees, once you've had a bite to eat (we don't want you getting hungry and nibbling at your canvas). Jean will teach us how to transform a cookie into edible artwork using food dye markers and paints. Cookie canvases will be provided.
How much does it cost
Tickets to the WEAD Salon Series are "Pay what you will." It is important to us that all are welcome. If you are able to contribute towards the cost of artist fees and refreshments, or even make a larger donation to support WEADs programs, we are very grateful!
