There is an ever growing divide between the traditional rehab model on injuries and how it transitions an injured athlete back to full performance and a successful return to play.
This presentation aims to give an idea of what to look out for regarding red flags of an injured athlete, basic periodisation around rehab and return to play, progression and regression of exercises, and building confidence in the athlete’s performance.
Brendan is an ASCA Elite L3 Strength & Conditioning Coach and current Physiotherapist & Head of Sports Rehab at Paragon Physio
He holds a Master of Physiotherapy studies, Master of exercise science (strength & conditioning) and Bachelor of sports coaching & exercise science.
Previously, Brendan has been the Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach at the NSW Swifts and QBE Swifts Academy, Head of Strength & Power at the Queanbeyan Tigers Football Club (AFL Canberra), Head of Performance at the Noosa Tigers (QAFL), Aspley Hornets (VFL), and the Canberra Demons (NEAFL).
Altogether, Brendan has 11 years of extensive high performance, strength & conditioning, rehab & physiotherapy experience in managing, programming, & delivering extensive & professional athletic development & performance programs.
