Originally founded by students in response to global stories young people experiencing bullying and harassment, Wear it Purple Day has become an international movement of love, support and allyship.
This year, the Pride Network and Diversity and Inclusion Team invite speakers from University’s LGBTQIA+ community to share how they use their passions to ally the wider LGBTQIA+ community and build pride. You will leave this session inspired by the joy that supporting community brings.
When: 30 August 2024, 11am-12pm
Where: Online via Zoom
Show your support by wearing purple and downloading the zoom background or email signature here! This year’s artwork is by Nicky Tsekouras, winner of Wear it Purple’s Youth Action Council (YAC) Design Competition. By wearing purple, we demonstrate to rainbow young people that they are celebrated and respected, acknowledging all have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming.
