Mark your calendars for LGBTIQ+ trivia and a virtual human photo collage to celebrate WEAR IT PURPLE DAY - an annual day that's all about celebrating and supporting young people of diverse sexes, sexualities and gender identities (LGBTIQ+) - UNSW STUDENTS!

    --

    WHEN:  Friday 28 August 2020,11am - 12 pm

WHERE: Zoom (link to be shared via email closer to the date)

WHAT:  Fun, webinar and panel-free event includes interactive, LGBTIQ+ educational trivia and coming together in a virtual human photo collage** (Remember the Human Rainbow? Feels like forever ago, let's replicate that sense of togetherness and support!)

TO WEAR/ NOT TO WEAR: CAN YOU BELIEVE IT - DON'T WEAR A PURPLE SHIRT FOR THIS EVENT! Instead, use this downloadable Wear It Purple Day Zoom background.  Zoom advises not wearing clothing that’s the same colour as the virtual background, it will look funny!

You can still pop on some purple accessories or make-up!

    --

This year marks the tenth anniversary of not-for-profit organisation Wear It Purple, founded in 2010 by two young Australians, in response to global stories of LGBTIQ+ teenagers taking their own lives due to bullying and harassment.

Wear It Purple has grown into a world-wide celebration of diversity and pride!  Now more than ever it's time to tackle stigma and discrimination, while reinforcing respect for each other.
