All people and expressions of identity are welcome.
Where?
This small group experience takes place at the beautiful Vacant Assembly Project Space in West End, Brisbane/Meanjin. Your host Monique Ross is doing a weaving residency in the space through September.
Street parking is available on site, and regular bus services are available.
Details will be provided via email 48 hours prior to the event - please ensure you use the correct email to register! Eventbrite's emails sometimes end up in the junk/spam folder, so please check that if you have not received an email.
What to expect
This event has a maximum of 12 participants, and is suitable for people 12 years and over.
We will weave using premium raffia, in a coil style using the mariposa stitch shown in the photos below. (You can build on this stitch with the 'mariposa' workshop on September 11 to create a wall hanging. If you'd like to come to both workshops please contact me for a discounted rate.)
No prior experience is necessary and all materials are provided.
You can expect to weave a small basket or coaster in this session, and you will take home the skills needed to complete larger projects.
Light snacks and a glass of wine/beer/non-alcoholic drink are included.
