Weave: A Thread of the Park
Creative Nature Workshop
In partnership with Auckland Parks and EcoMatters

Join us for a fun and engaging playshop where we connect with nature and each other through art-making and shared stories.

We’ll gather natural treasures from the park and help build a shared loom weaving called a Story Catcher. You’ll also create your own small Story Catcher to take home, filled with the treasures and memories of your walk. We’ll finish with some shared fun and kai.

All welcome!
Perfect for whānau with children of any age who are curious about nature and creativity.

All materials provided.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Light Library and Auckland Parks Creative Nature Workshop

Emma Hinton is an experienced storyteller and facilitator who transitioned from a 25-year film career to publish Finding Grace Kimihia a Grace, a bilingual picture book. She founded The Light Library, curating workshops and books to nurture fellow creatives while rediscovering her Ngāti Maniapoto roots. Emma lives in Waitākere, Auckland, with her daughter and serves as a Celebrant, sharing real-life stories. She is passionate about the power of storytelling to shape our future and well-being.
