Join exhibiting artist Meirav Ong for Weaving Our Futures, an intimate, small-group weaving workshop on grief, release, and dreaming into the future. The workshop is presented as part of 70 Seeds, a group exhibition imagining vibrant, pluralistic Jewish life in the United States in the year 2070.
Sometimes it's hard to be present, or to dream into the future, when we feel attached to the past. This workshop is a space to honor the grief we carry and to begin transforming it.
During our time together, participants will turn literal and figurative fibers into a weaving: a tangible testament to both what they've lost and their choice to seek aliveness and imagine a vibrant future. Through meditation, journaling, and weaving, we'll tap into our embodied wisdom, listening to the stories our bodies hold in order to make room for what comes next. Everyone will leave with their own small weaving, which can become a mini wall hanging, pouch, or bookmark.
What to bring: Old clothes, fabric, paper, ephemera, or other materials you'd like to weave with. Please bring only things you're comfortable cutting and tearing up. Looms will be provided and will also be available for purchase.
No weaving experience is needed!
This event is free and open to the public; however, RSVPs are required, as space is limited to keep the group small. Donations to support the exhibition and future programming are welcome and appreciated.

The Judeofuturism Project is a multidisciplinary initiative supporting Jewish futures rooted in imagination, resilience, and collective thriving. We ask: What becomes possible beyond survival? How can communities think long-term? And what can Jewish wisdom offer a world in transformation? The Judeofuturism Project believes Jewish communities have always been futures-builders. Our mission is to recover, practice, and amplify that capacity, connecting the people, tools and ideas needed to strengthen our infrastructure of imagination for this moment and beyond
