Weaving Stories of Boodja: Cultural Workshop & Final Community Day
Event description
Kaya! Welcome to the Weaving Stories of Boodja Cowaramup Community Art project by local artists Cara Ratajczak & Michelle Bretherton. Our project has run throughout 2022 and involved local Artists, Wardandi Custodians, community & nature groups who helped bring to the community a series of FREE, fun, educational & engaging CREATIVE workshops for children ages (4-12yrs) & families!
This is OUR LAST Workshop #20 - 'Cultural Workshop & Final Community Day'.
In this session we will be revealing our final community created woven animal sculptures in their home at the Cowaramup Community Garden. Join us with Wardandi Custodians, Elder Vivian Brockman and her daughter Mitchella Hutchins as we take a stroll in the garden to discover the hidden sculptures around the garden, learning their Wardandi names and listening to stories. We will then celebrate the finale of our community project by creating a 'Bora' with Land Artist Elaine Clocherty and having a little dance around it!
Date/Time: Saturday 19th November, 2022 time: 1- 4pm
Venue: Cowaramup Community Garden. Rain or shine!
Please book one ticket per child aged 4 to 12 years old. (Younger siblings are welcome to come along).

We can't wait to celebrate our years work with you!
