Weaving With Weeds Workshop
Event description
Join Genevieve in the Leonard Cockayne Centre at Ōtari-Wilton's Bush on the 7th of August for another tapestry weaving with weeds workshop. Over winter Genevieve has been weaving in the fernery at Ōtari and observing the ecosystem. As a group we will contribute to this piece - be sure to wear warm clothes as this will be outdoors! Then we will return to the visitors centre for some hot drinks, learn how to warp up a frame for weaving, and play with some plants that have been removed from the bush, while we kōrero about why this is.
This project is kindly supported by Wellington City Council Creative Communities Scheme.
The kaupapa of the Micro Mill is to make textile processes accessible to our community in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Check us out on instagram or our link tree for more details
