Web 3: What's In It For Me?
Event description
SPECIAL NOTE RE EVENT LOCATION
This event is being held at The Quantum Terminal, which can be a little tricky to find if you have never been there before. The Quantum Terminal main entrance is just east of the Dulwich Hill (L1) Light Rail stop at Central Station. We will have Spark Festival people on the door in bright magenta shirts from about 5:45pm.
Blockchain, DAOs, NFTs, crypto, the metaverse: a collection of emerging technologies is coalescing under the name of "Web 3".
Enthusiasts claim it's the 90s all over again. Others say it's all dangerous vaporware and nothing will come of it.
The truth is, at this stage it's hard to tell what will emerge. But if you're keen to find out what it could mean for you and your little corner of the world, this event will be a great opportunity to learn from approachable homegrown technologists at the leading edge of this exciting domain.Â
If there is one thing that entrepreneurs, researchers, students, academics, arts and cultural organisations and many others who make up the Tech Central community will have in common it's a mixture of skepticism, fear and curiosity about this somewhat impenetrable but fast emerging tech revolution.
Join Spark Festival, The Quantum Terminal and Tech Central for an evening of accessible, bespoke content which will demystify and hopefully even light some sparks around how they can start exploring this exciting tech from today.
Confirmed Speakers Include
- Duco van Breeman, CEO of Haymarket HQ, NFT enthusiast and Creator of The Kimmies
