Web Accessibility Techniques and Testing

*Please Note: We are continuing to provide all of our courses as online training until further notice. The training will be provided in module sessions of 2 hours each over a 4 week period.

Should you wish to take part in online training for Web Accessibility Techniques and Testing, you will need the following requirements:

  • Access to a desktop/laptop computer with a stable internet connection
  • Course Module notes (we will provide)
  • Working headphones/microphone/speakers
  • Access to Zoom meetings

Renowned for its comprehensive approach to technical accessibility and inclusive design principles, this highly popular course will benefit anyone involved in the development or maintenance of websites.

You’ll learn how to test for accessibility issues within a website or web application and practical techniques to resolve them. We’ll demonstrate design and code solutions you can implement to achieve WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, as well as usability and accessibility best practices gathered through our own research and user testing across various disability groups.

Course Content

Designed for maximum engagement and flexible delivery, learning exercises and examples are provided and questions encouraged in this lecture-style presentation. Those with a basic working knowledge of HTML and CSS will gain the most from this course.

Course Materials

In addition to digital course notes, you’ll gain access to a custom-built website to practice your skills after the course. Designed by our experts as a self-assessment resource, the site can be used to:

  • Practice identifying accessibility and inclusive design issues
  • Develop your code inspection skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Practice using testing tools demonstrated during the course
  • Evaluate your success by comparing your results with those we supply

Cost and Inclusions

Price listed is per person, including GST. 

  • $595 full fee
  • $535 (group booking over 4 attendees)

Cancellations

You may only cancel your registration by written notice to digitalaccess@visionaustralia.org. If notification of cancellation is received by Vision Australia: (i) more than 14 days prior to the event, a full refund of your registration fees, less an administration fee of $16.50, will be provided; (ii) between 7 and 14 days prior to the event, a refund of 50% of your registration fees, less an administration fee of $16.50, will be provided; (iii) less than 7 days prior to the event, registration fees will not be refunded.
