Webinar #53 | Libby Hathorn - Enhancing Creative Thinking Through Children's Literature

The award-winning author of an astonishing more than 70 much-loved books for children and young people, plus the stage show Incredibilia, will speak to the possibilities of the marriage of the arts from book to stage play to opera.

Reflecting on her work, poet and author Libby Hathorn will share what literature can do to support and stimulate creative thinking in developing minds.

Libby's books are concerned with the rights of children and the importance of nurturing them in every way; the value of simple acts of kindness; and love and respect for the natural world, so often celebrated through the great poets.

Her recent picture book No! Never! written with her daughter Lisa Hathorn-Jarman, won the CBCA Children’s Picture Book of the Year Award, Younger Readers, 2021, Hachette Australia, but this is just the latest in a lifetime of literary awards. Translated into several languages and adapted for stage and screen, her work has won honours in Australia, United States, Great Britain and Holland.
