Heddy Lahmann, Professor of International Education at New York University, will share insights from her recent study From Margins to Masterpieces: Charting Pathways to Strengthen Arts in Global Public Education.
Her study examines arts education across 55 countries, and she brings us the benefit of this breadth of engagement to discuss the ways we can all build towards truly inclusive arts education for all, any why that's going to be so important for this an subsequent generations. Drawing on interviews and surveys with diverse stakeholders, the report highlights key bottlenecks, along with what’s already working, and offers practical recommendations for making arts education more accessible, inclusive, and central to the future of learning.
Heddy's broader research focuses on arts, education in crisis settings, and the role of creative expression in peacebuilding and social change.
