Webinar #67 | Daisy Fancourt - Art Cure Book Launch
Description
Daisy Fancourt is Professor of Psychobiology and Epidemiology at University College London where she heads the Social Biobehavioural Research Group, and Director of the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre on Arts and Health.
Daisy's new book, Art Cure, summarises the phenomenal contribution that the arts and creativity make to the health and wellbeing of individuals and societies by sharing the cutting-edge scientific evidence.
In this webinar she will share her studies of how people can use the arts to support specific mental and physical health outcomes for different clinical conditions. Her work uncovers the major challenges being faced globally to the arts sector and artists around the world, and has the ultimate aim of trying to achieve a step-change in how people view and value the arts – not as a luxury but as an essential.
Daisy has published 300 scientific papers, won over two dozen academic prizes and is listed as one of the most highly cited scientists in the world. Daisy is also a multi-award-winning science communicator and has been named a World Economic Forum Global Shaper and BBC New Generation Thinker. We're very excited to have her present her latest finding on how art can improve our health, make us happier and even help us live longer, as described in her inspiring new book.
