Event description

Join us for a free webinar hosted by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) designed to help ReOC (remotely piloted aircraft operator’s certificate) and RePL (remote pilot licence) holders apply to conduct beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations.

We will provide guidance on means of compliance, safety protocols, and assessing ground risk.

We will give you the tools and insights for making a specific operations risk assessment (SORA) based BVLOS application.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of CASA's alternate ground risk assessment methods and see how the SORA 2.0 framework applies to Australian environments.

    Topics covered will include:

    • the latest on BVLOS operations and regulatory requirements in Australia
    • ground risk assessment using CASA’s alternate iGRC table and M1 integrity criteria
    • optimal grid resolution selection and its implications on ground risk scoring
    • SORA 2.0 compliance essentials for BVLOS operation planning
    • mitigation strategies for high-risk BVLOS scenarios.

    Who should attend?
This session is ideal for ReOC and RePL holders planning or actively conducting BVLOS operations in diverse environments, particularly those navigating areas with varying population densities.

    What are the benefits?

    • learn how to perform accurate ground risk assessments for safe BVLOS operations
    • gain insights into CASA’s regulatory updates and how they impact your operations
    • access a live Q&A with CASA’s experts and connect with other BVLOS operators.
