The ACT Government has released its draft ‘Missing Middle’ policy for consultation. The policy isis important for promoting housing affordability and equity, but also for environmental reasons: implemented well, the policy can reduce habitat destruction from building new suburbs, plus reduce car dependency and carbon emissions as people living close to urban centres shift to walking, riding or public transport.
