WEBINAR: How to apply for the Walkley Solution Journalism Fund
Event description
The Walkley Foundation is proud to announce the Walkley Solutions Journalism Fund, supported by the Walkley Foundation Public Fund.
Traditional news stories focus on covering problems. A solutions story focuses on a response to that problem and how it works, with evidence and data about how effective it is, and any limitations it faces. The story should provide enough information for your audience to decide whether it would be worth trying where they live.
The Fund will allocate up to AU$175,000 to support eligible media organisations and independent journalists to create public interest journalism stories or projects with a solutions journalism focus. Applicants can apply for a single amount of up to $30,000 with a minimum grant of $5,000.
Entries will open at 09:00 on Tuesday 1 October and close at 11:59pm on Tuesday 12 November (Sydney time).
Explore the Fund description on our website, and review the Eligibility, Selection Criteria and Terms and Conditions. To enhance your chances, we also recommend reading Implementing Solutions Journalism in your Newsroom, a condensed version of a training series the Foundation ran earlier this year.
