And companies have certainly started to realise this and get on-board. Sustainability teams are expanding, and they are doing truly amazing work. There are announcements, net zero targets, plans are being put in place. 

But so far, it’s too little, too slow. Because what is needed is nothing short of a far-reaching transformation. 

How does change happen at a company? Just like with any other change inside a system, it starts with people. Employees. Employees - not just those in sustainability but the whole workforce - may very well hold the key to the transformation of the private sector.
