Information Session 1 - Options for new aviation disability standards - Open to all

The Australian Government wants to make sure air travel is accessible for people with disability.  

The new aviation-specific disability standards will address barriers to air travel and protect the rights of people with disability.  

Join this information session to learn more about the consultation process so far, what’s included in the consultation paper and how to share your views through the submission process.  

Who should attend?  

The event is open to anyone in the community with an interest in accessible air travel, and the process for the aviation disability standards consultation paper.   

What is the information session about?  

The Australian Government has developed a consultation paper which outlines different options for the new standards.  

These options have been co-designed with people with disability and developed in consultation with industry.  

Co-design partners will present during the webinar on their role and involvement in the co-design process.   

The session will also cover background on the Aviation White Paper, an overview of the consultation paper, and how you can make a submission.  

The session will close with a facilitated Q&A panel to provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions.  

How will the event run? 

This information session will be held online via Zoom. It will run for 90 minutes. 

This event will be recorded and made available on the Department's website following the event. 

This session is information-sharing only, but there will be an opportunity to ask questions about the consultation paper and process during the Q&A.

If you join online via Teams, Teams will collect the name and email you enter when joining. You may choose to use a nickname and a non-identifying email address.  

We use this information to send event updates, ensure the session is inclusive and accessible and understand who we are hearing from. Non-identifying information you provide may be included in a report to the Australian Government. Teams sessions are not recorded unless clearly stated in advance and with your permission.  

All information is stored securely in Australia. You can choose what information to provide, and you may request to access or delete your personal information at any time.
