Riccardo’s passion lies in understanding the human body from a holistic, integrated perspective. His journey began in the mid-2000s in London, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Acupuncture at the University of Portsmouth. During his time volunteering at the Gateway Acupuncture Clinic in Lambeth Hospital—a specialist pain clinic for chronic, long-term conditions—he developed a deep interest in blending traditional acupuncture with modern approaches to biomechanics and movement therapy.

Today, Riccardo’s approach uniquely merges classical Chinese acupuncture with contemporary body mechanics and functional anatomy. His holistic practice addresses the body from the inside out: acupuncture focuses on the internal meridian system, while his deep knowledge of biomechanics and movement therapy targets muscles, bones, and joint mechanics. He incorporates cranial-sacral therapy, strength and conditioning, and personal training to tackle various health concerns, empowering clients to take control of their well-being.

After returning to Australia, Riccardo established his own clinic, evolving from Acuviva to Canberra Acupuncture and eventually rebranding to The Body Lab in 2022. This shift reflects his expanded focus on movement and biomechanics, and his dedication to helping clients achieve long-term wellness through self-care and body awareness. His sessions are designed not only to treat symptoms but to educate clients about their bodies’ potential and capabilities.

Riccardo’s practice is informed by continuous mentorship and advanced studies. He has trained extensively with experts like Dr. Paul Conneely in foot mobilisation and Dr. Kathy Dooley and Gary Gray in functional anatomy. For over 8 years, he has also studied under Gary Ward directly, creator of the Anatomy in Motion (AiM) method, serving as both an instructor and mentor to fellow therapists.

With over 18+ years of experience, Riccardo is dedicated to helping clients develop body awareness, correct posture, alleviate chronic pain, and improve movement. Through his work—whether in one-on-one sessions, group workshops, or educational events—he provides practical, integrative tools for long-term health. His goal is simple: to empower individuals and fellow therapists with the knowledge and techniques to take charge of their own healing journey.
