Webinar: Standard Nine: Staff Qualifications and Training
Description
Join us for this month's National Palliative Care Standards Community of Practice webinar. This month, we focus on Standard Nine: Staff Qualifications and Training. During Self-Care Month, it's a timely opportunity to reflect on the importance of supporting a skilled, confident and well-supported workforce through appropriate qualifications, training and ongoing professional development.
Hear from Frances Gore, Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultant, Aged Care Mercy Health, Charlotte Coulson, Nurse Educator, PEPA program_official, and Samantha Moorhouse, Nurse Educator, PEPA program_official, as they reflect on their professional experiences, share practical insights and discuss how Standard Nine can be integrated into day-to-day practice.
The National Palliative Care Standards for Specialist Services (Edition 5.1, 2024) set a vision for compassionate, high-quality palliative care. Complementing these, the National Palliative Care Standards for All Health Professionals and Aged Care Services (2022) acknowledge that palliative care occurs across diverse settings. The Palliative Care Self-Assessment (PaCSA) supports services to assess practice and drive continuous quality improvement.
To make the most of this session, we encourage participants to download the National Palliative Care Standards and PaCSA ahead of the webinar:
