Webinar: Supporting clients experiencing anxiety workshop on Tuesday 23rd March 2027 - 7:00pm - 8:30pm AEDT
Where: Online
CPE: 1.5 CPE points
Anxiety is a part of life. Every one of us experiences it, and many clients bring it into consultations through persistent worry, avoidance, perfectionism, physical symptoms, sleeplessness or a constant sense of being on edge. The goal is not always to eliminate anxiety, but to help clients understand it, respond to it and prevent it from controlling their lives.
This practical, evidence-informed workshop is designed for ATMS practitioners and students who want greater confidence in supporting clients experiencing anxiety. Participants will explore practical questions, tools and responses that can be used within their scope of practice while maintaining clear professional boundaries and referral pathways.
In this workshop, participants will learn:
• How anxiety affects the brain and body, explained in client-friendly language
• Simple grounding, breathing and emotional regulation techniques
• Practical strategies for worry, avoidance and overthinking
• How to normalise anxiety without minimising a client’s experience
• How to build safe and supportive relationships with anxious clients
• When anxiety may indicate trauma or require referral to another professional
• How these approaches can be applied through case examples and live demonstrations
There will also be opportunities for discussion and participant questions.
