Webinar Thirty Three: Social cohesion - Creating connections in place

This event has passed Register

Event description

The experiences of recent months have highlighted the importance of social connection and interaction for human well-being.

Yet even under normal circumstances, people often struggle to connect.

In fast-growing, highly diverse local communities, this challenge is compounded. Lacking points of common connection, local communities can quickly become fragmented.

Social cohesion is an established concept in diversity management and it is typically applied at macro scale policy; however, the work of CSI Swinburne's Professor Robyn Eversole and Dr Kiros Hiruy, explores its applications to social connection in local contexts.

Join us for this impact2020 webinar, where Robyn and Kiros will showcase their work in social cohesion and will explore a case study of a recent project in a ‘super-diverse’ Council area on a metropolitan fringe, which has created concrete examples of social cohesion in action and generated a place-based framework that local organisations can use to grow social cohesion in their communities.

Please note:
This webinar starts at 1:00pm (AEST) and registrations will close an hour before the webinar starts.

The webinar will be recorded and emailed to attendees in a few weeks. Later in the year all impact2020 webinar recordings will be publicly available.

This impact2020 webinar is a free event presented by the Centre for Social Impact (CSI).
