Webinar Twenty Three: International social impact through Work Integrated Learning
Event description
Students want to apply their knowledge in the real world and for-purpose organisations in the "developing world" are craving global skills for long-term sustainability. How do we create immersive learning experiences that result in genuine engagement with the complexities of cross-cultures, purpose and profit?
During this impact2020 webinar you'll meet Sandeep Kirpalani, Course Authority for the Centre for Social Impact UNSW who has designed for-credit social entrepreneurship practicum courses in both India and Indonesia.
Sandeep, along with his co-presenters, CSI students Zachary Sharah and Janel Tumpalan, will delve into some of the cultural, social and logistical nuances and opportunities of delivering International courses that focus on genuine social impact.
Through the above courses, both Zachary and Janel have worked on grassroots education and environment projects in North India and Bali respectively. The cross-disciplinary application of business tools and reflection exercises challenged their notions of the "third world" and changed the course of their life!
If you are a social entrepreneur, a practitioner, student, lecturer, parent or potential stakeholder, join us for an hour of serious-ness, reflection, humour and lots of pictures.
Please note: This webinar starts at 12:00pm (AEST) and registrations will close an hour before the webinar starts.
The webinar will be recorded and emailed to attendees in a few weeks. Later in the year all impact2020 webinar recordings will be publicly available.
This impact2020 webinar is a free event presented by the Centre for Social Impact (CSI).
