Webinar Twenty Two: The emotional face of firefighting - The case of the black saturday bushfires

This event has passed Register

Event description

Join us for this impact2020 webinar with Dr Graham Dwyer from the Centre for Social Impact Swinburne, as he presents a study about firefighters involved in the 2009 black saturday bushfires.

As part of the ongoing research project, ten years after the tragedy, researchers interviewed firefighters who responded to the bushfires, who were involved in the subsequent public inquiry, and who were then responsible for the implementation of the inquiry’s recommendations.

Graham will take attendees through the research and will reflect on the relevance of the findings in current times.

Graham's research revolves around the areas of sensemaking, learning and
change in emergency management organisations and he currently teaches
at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the areas of social
impact.

CSI UNSW's Dr Cobi Calyx will facilitate the Q&A in this webinar.

Please note: This webinar starts at 3:30pm (AEST) and registrations will close an hour before the webinar starts.

The webinar will be recorded and emailed to attendees in a few weeks. Later in the year all impact2020 webinar recordings will be publicly available.

This impact2020 webinar is a free event presented by the Centre for Social Impact (CSI).
