Description

When Capability Looks Like Inconsistency: Understanding Executive Dysfunction in the Workplace

They're brilliant on Tuesday and unreachable on Thursday. They can lead the strategy session but can't seem to reply to the email. If you've managed someone like this — or been someone like this — you've seen executive dysfunction up close. Most managers just don't have a name for it.

1 in 5 people are neurodivergent. Many of your managers are already supporting executive dysfunction in their teams every day — they just don't recognise it, and it's rarely the person's motivation or attitude that's the problem.

Executive function is the human operating system behind planning, prioritising, working memory, time, task initiation and emotional regulation. When it's under-supported, performance takes the hit — for neurodivergent employees, and plenty of neurotypical ones too (hello, perimenopause, burnout and chronic stress).

In this session, you'll learn:

  • What executive dysfunction actually looks like at work, and who it shows up for

  • What managers commonly misread as poor performance — and what it's costing psychological safety and retention

  • Practical strategies you can put into practice tomorrow: communication, reasonable adjustments, feedback, meetings, workload and accountability

  • A real coaching conversation showing these strategies in action

  • When microlearning, coaching and workplace design can each help — and how they work together

Your hosts:

Michelle Ridsdale — Founder of Kaboose, HR Executive, and creator of Neuro Nuggets by Kaboose.
Caroline Beresford — The Addvocacy Project, coaching neurodivergent professionals and the managers who support them.

Who this is for: HR, DEI, Wellbeing and Psychological Safety leads, and people managers who want practical tools, not more awareness theory.

📅 Friday, 2 October 2026 | 🕛 12:00pm AEST | ⏱ 1 hour (live Q&A included)

Your bonus for showing up: every attendee gets a free trial of Neuro Nuggets by Kaboose for Organisations, plus an introductory 1-hour coaching session with Caroline that includes an Executive Function Profile Assessment. Two ways to build capability: scalable learning for your whole team, and deeper 1:1 coaching where it's needed most.

This isn't another one-off awareness session. It's the practical, reach-for-it-when-it-matters guidance managers have been missing.
