Weed Foraging - Edible Autumn Adventure
Event description
A wonderful world of weeds exists around us and while we may wage war on some, have you ever wanted your kids to know exactly which ones are friendly and even useful and which ones are unhelpful or even harmful?
With the return of the autumn rains and the end of summer, come forage with us to learn about the medicinal and edible plants which can help us. Forage, sample or just collect and learn. Children will make a weedy bush craft mandala they can take home to remember their new found knowledge.
We will also brew harvest and boil up a Weed Tea for you to sample and enjoy.
Facilitated by experienced Nature Educators Dee and Ella Suitable for children 4 - 12 y/o.
Safe foraging taught as well as comprehensive ID with a take-home booklet. Book in early for this hit workshop that sold out last Spring*! *not run over summer due to growing phases
Parents are responsible for their children at all times and are encouraged to participate in the fun! This school holiday program is an all weather outdoor session so participants need to make sure to bring weather appropriate protection. In the event of inclement weather the program will be either shifted to an undercover location. Cancellation will only occur in the event of extreme weather warnings: fire, strong winds, storm or high temperatures.
