Join Kirsty Costa, host of Australia’s most listened-to nature podcast Weekend Birder, and special guests for a chat about the birds that give Darwin its character.

She is the host of Weekend Birder, one of Australia’s most listened-to science nature podcasts, where she invites people to notice the birds around them. You’ll find her speaking at festivals, leading bird walks, hosting workshops and popping up in national media.
Liz Trevaskis
You might know Liz Trevaskis as the host of ABC Radio NT's Afternoons show. Liz is an experienced storyteller and, more recently, a fully-fledged birdwatcher. In her weekly segment Very Amateur Bird Watching, she helps listeners get excited about their local birds.
Dr Amanda Lilleyman
Dr Amanda Lilleyman cares about shorebirds in the NT. She has been lucky to be able to research migratory shorebirds in Darwin Harbour for many years, and has volunteered to celebrate the extraordinary lives of these birds through BirdLife Top End.
Brittany Hayward-Brown
An ecologist by training and a community-builder by passion, Brittany Hayward-Brown is one the shapers defining what birding means today. She is the person behind Hot Girl Bird Watching, a Darwin bird happy group that centres around women and LGBTQIA+ people. She was also the driver behind the award-winning Darwin Fringe show BIRDLESQUE.

The event starts at 11:00am and finishes at 12:00pm. Doors open at 10:40am.
- Is this event wheelchair accessible?
Yes. MAGNT is a wheelchair friendly venue and we can secure you and/your guests a great spot in the theatrette. Let us know what you need at the checkout.
- Is this event suitable for young people?
Yes - we know there are lots of young bird lovers out there and they are most welcome to attend. You will be sitting for one hour so please keep this in mind if bringing children under 8 years.
