Weekly Growers Group - Fridays at Kensington Depot / Nursery
Event description
🌱 Growers Group Returns! 🌱
We're back in action at the nursery! Join us on Friday 30th May & 6th June to give the seedlings we sowed a couple of months ago the TLC they need to grow strong and healthy. Together, we’ll keep an eye out for any unwanted visitors and make sure our future trees are in top shape for their new homes in the wild.
Whether you’re passionate about native plants or just curious to learn, come spend a rewarding day connecting with nature and meeting fellow plant lovers in Kensington!
TreeProject gets urban and rural communities working together to put trees back on the land. Our network of trained volunteers grows indigenous seedlings for rural landholders and Landcare groups who need our help with revegetation. With almost 3 million indigenous trees, shrubs and grasses planted so far and a record number of 162,000 scheduled for this year we are passionate about empowering the community to support biodiversity in any way they can; whether that be growing indigenous species in their urban gardens, volunteering to grow indigenous seedlings for TreeProject or dropping in to our weekly community growers group to help us sow and care for our indigenous seedlings at our nursery. By choosing to plant indigenous species, you can support local wildlife, and contribute to the restoration of Victoria’s precious ecosystems.
What to Bring:
1) Hat and sturdy shoes.
2) Water bottle and your lunch.
3) Gardening gloves.
Thank you for supporting TreeProject!
