Information session : 'Welcome Home' Multigenerational Villages
Event description
Multi-generational cohousing village in regional areas - from great examples around the world
Do you want to hear the vision, the process, the financial aspects, build examples and possible locations of these projects and how you could be involved?
---
Many regional areas across Australia are great places to be, to visit, to live and to work.
Yet when we look into detail of many regions we see concerns about modern housing and cost of living pressures, an increased need for sensible relationship with the natural environment, cultural differences and many social challenges. Any one of would might think there is a great need for different ways to build housing and communities.
---
Cohousing is a style of development where 25-75 people live in 12-25 dwellings that are beautifully clustered around central shared facilities. Kind-of like a retirement village for all generations that is co-created by a partnership between residents AND developers. Food growing, shared vehicle options and neighbours caring for each other is often a key feature. Sounds like a great way of living!
------
Jason has done the fundamental assessment and research of what's involved in building new cohousing projects in rural areas and is currently inviting partnerships with future residents, planning professionals, developers, housing providers and investors.
By attending you'll get to discuss how we can co-create villages in your neck of the woods.
