Welcoming Winter - A Day Retreat
Event description
As the days gets shorter, the nights are noticeably chillier but in Perth the sun is still out and rainy days are peppered between beautiful beach days. Autumn zooms by as a milder version of summer, then out of nowhere winter comes thru and descends its icy wrath, seemingly without warning! As the frosty winds of winter sweep through, our bodies crave slowness, warmth and comfort.
Eastern Medical systems have always emphasized the importance of adjusting our diets and lifestyles to harmonize with the changing seasons. However the world we live in has a way of disconnecting us from ourselves, from each other, from our environment, from our true essence.. We live in a society that rewards consistency and productivity above all else.
So let this be an invitation to scrap the shame of slowing down.. Even if for just a moment. Join me and other amazing humans for a day of nourishment as we equip ourselves with practices and knowledge to support our bodies and those we love through this seasonal shift.
We will get cosy while exploring Ancient Eastern wisdom and practices that are accessible to integrate into your life. We will drink tea in ceremony, connect over delicious food, make a herbal concoction that you can brew at home, give as well as receive massage and unwind our bodies through gentle movement. The day has been curated to deeply nourish you in your body, mind and spirit.
You will Learn:
How to support your health as the winter season approaches
A mini massage flow + key acupressure points you can use to impress your loved ones
Foundational concepts of Eastern Medical systems
How to develop a deeper connection to your body
