Well Ahead - Wellington Women's Health Event
Description
Well Ahead: Put your health on the agenda
An event for women balancing demanding careers, businesses and families, who are already invested in their health and want to understand it more deeply.
As energy, sleep, recovery and body composition shift through midlife, the right information matters.
Well Ahead brings together Dame Susan Devoy and a lineup of experts across health, nutrition, movement and healthy ageing to explore the science and strategy behind:
Energy and recovery
Sleep and stress
Nutrition
Strength and movement
Body composition
Hormonal changes
Perimenopause and menopause
Bone health
Genetics and individual biology
Well Ahead is designed as a connected conversation, not a series of standalone talks.
Each speaker builds on the last, giving you a clearer, more complete picture of your own health rather than a list of disconnected tips.
The day opens with an optional workshop, Your Genes, Your Choices, exploring genetics, DNA testing and the role our genes can play in understanding individual biology. The full programme continues into the afternoon and closes with a live panel and audience Q&A.
Practical information. Expert perspectives. One day, properly invested in your health.
Choose a Morning Workshop pass, Main Event pass, or the Full Pass for the whole day.

“Women spend so much of their lives looking after everyone and everything else. Well Ahead is about putting your own health on the agenda, hearing from people who really know their field, and coming away with information and ideas you can actually use. You don't have to have all the answers. Sometimes you just need to make the time to start asking the right questions.”
- Dame Susan Devoy
Well Ahead is supported by a growing network of organisations across Wellington's business, professional, health, fitness and wellness communities, all helping us bring women together for an important conversation about health through midlife.

She completed her PhD at Auckland University of Technology researching the effects of exercise on bone health in women, and continues her research in this area. Bone density changes significantly for women through perimenopause and menopause, with direct implications for strength, mobility and independence in the decades that follow. Tracey will explore what happens to women's bone health through midlife, why it matters for long term health and longevity, and why women should be thinking about it earlier rather than later.
