These side effects will vary from person to person and may include erectile dysfunction and incontinence. Fortunately, there are solutions and treatment options available to help manage these and assist in recovery. Jim Duthie is a robotic and urological surgeon who works in the public system at Wellington Hospital, and privately at Duthie Urosurgical (Tauranga) and Wellington's Wakefield Hospital. He provides general urology care with sub-specialty expertise in prostate disease (both cancerous and benign conditions), erectile dysfunction and integrated men's health, with a number of special interest areas including prostate cancer treatment; transperineal prostate biopsy; Da Vinci robotic surgery; laser prostatectomy and Urolift surgery.Â
Jim serves as Medical Advisor to the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ and Testicular Cancer New Zealand, a role he has held for more than a decade.Â
