We Belong: Site Visit - Celebrating Women's Suffrage in Aotearoa

Join us for a special afternoon celebrating women's suffrage, connection, and the contribution of women to the shaping of Wellington and New Zealand.

Hosted in the magnificent Von Kohorn Room at Wellington Museum, this event takes place in what can only be described as the "boardroom of all boardrooms". Once home to the powerful Wellington Harbour Board, the room has been meticulously restored to its original 1920s grandeur. Rich in history and tradition, the space is lined with portraits of former board members and chairmen, reflecting a time when leadership was overwhelmingly male.

Today, the room tells a broader story. Alongside these historic portraits hangs a striking tapestry celebrating the women who helped build NZ, making it a fitting setting for our theme: We Belong.

Our in-house museum guide will take us through the history of the room, the Harbour Board, and the women whose contributions have helped shape our country. Following the tour, enjoy drinks, light refreshments, and networking with others from across the construction and infrastructure sectors. The museum will remain open, and you're welcome to explore its exhibitions at your leisure as part of your Sunday afternoon.

Tickets are priced per adult. You're welcome to bring children, and additional child tickets can be added during registration.

Getting there: Please note there is no dedicated parking available at the venue. When you arrive, simply ask at the museum front desk and staff will direct you to the Von Kohorn Room.
