From 11 - 18 of May 2025, Look After Me is collaborating with the Hindu Heritage Centre, teachers and tourism operators to bring you Wellness Week.

The event offers a range of self-care practices and wellness experiences to suit different lifestyles and budgets.

From yoga and meditation to sound healing, addiction support, nutraceuticals and community connection, spa and massage, the week-long celebration aims to foster holistic wellbeing within an inclusive and faith-friendly space.

You're so busy looking after everyone else (your children, your job, your house, your partner, your parents - but who is looking after you?

We do.

Whether you're new to self-care, feeling a bit stressed or looking to deepen your practice, there's something here for everyone.

Mix and match by choosing from Workshops, Yoga, Meditation and Healing circles, and Markets, with popular therapies like spas, massage and spending time in our awe-inspiring nature.

Where are we?

225 Malfroy Road, Utuhina, Rotorua (not far from New World).

Nestled right near the heart of Rotorua is a sacred and special building.

It was originally built as a church, it has been a place of respect and worship for over 60 years....

In 2024, it was purchased, restored and redecorated byGuna Magesan, Gurukul Ltd and the Hindu Council of New Zealand, for the purpose of bringing the community together.

It is also the hub of Look After Me Headquarters - a wellness space for us all to enjoy. And since January 22, we've had a Community Garden project.

It's a place where we promote self-care in nourishing ways proven to be good for mind, body and soul.

In this one special week, we are bringing our community together.

Who is Look After Me?

Look After Me was founded in 2011, originally as an accommodation network.

Founder Julia, independently came up with an idea similar to AirBnB. She wanted to shape the company to prioritise looking after women, aged 50 and over - as she felt they were the most vulnerable, particularly those wanting to travel solo.

Together with our hosts, we have looked after about 30,000 guests, through over 600 properties around New Zealand.

In 2018, Look After Me expanded to offer Experiences, like retreats, which utilise the accommodation. While our HQ was based in Dunedin, we created small, personal events like The Great Write Inn.

However, throughout the Covid Years (2020-2025), we re-evaluated how to better serve a changed world. We've moved into the Wellness Industry, specialising in personalised self-care.

With moving back to Rotorua at the beginning of 2020, Look After Me is firmly established back in Rotorua. In 2024, through our Shareholding group we have the privilidge and honour of combining events, retreats and accommodation through the shared use and care of the building that was named The Hindu Heritage Centre.

Now we are a community of business owners, organisations, tourism operators, teachers and healers who collectively believe in preserving life through looking after body, mind and soul.
