West Side Food Ride

As they say, West is best! This is a ride through Footscray, Sunshine, and Yarraville for Pei Ting's tour of her favourite food spots. Each stop will be near a train station, so you have the option to stay for the whole ride or just stay for a while.

The route/ride

• 30kmloop on bike paths, residential roads, and some bikes lanes on roads shared with cars.

• At each stop, get a list of food places to explore + some time to pick and choose a bite for yourself.

• All bikes are welcome. Route is mostly flat and paved.

• Bonus: Roadside view of the Westgate Tunnel before it opens

• 

Logistics:

• Meeting at 10:15 for a 10:30am roll out. Meet at Footscray Train Station - Footscray Market side

• We aim to be back by 3pm, but due to the nature of social group rides, please plan to be flexible. 

• There is the option to depart at multiple stages of the ride

• This ride is weather dependent. If the weather is bad, we will make a call two days in advance to reschedule.

• Our ride guides do their best to plan safe routes that keep you off roads, but you are responsible for your own safety. Helmets are required.
  

Who this is for:

• This is a social, no drop ride. That means we ride as a group at a friendly chatting pace, and no one gets left behind.

• People keen to discover new favourite food spots

• Please respect that this is a ride specifically for people of colour.

Bring:

• A bike lock!

• Water, sunscreen

• Food is pay your own. If funds are the barrier to you coming along, we have financially supported tickets no questions asked!

Signed up but can't come anymore?

• Please cancel your ticket by replying to this email or texting Pei Ting at +61 490 523 181 ASAP so that we can give your spot to someone else. There is often a waitlist and the sooner you can cancel, the better :)

• We get that things can come up, but our rides are also entirely volunteer run, so please give us a hand with managing the event!

Is there a fee?

• Our rides are free and wholly volunteer-run. But if you'd like to make a contribution to keep us going, you can do so in the check-out page. :)
