Event description

Westerly is proud to announce the launch of its latest print issue, 69.2!

The new issue features exciting new work from writers and artists across WA, Australia and the world. It showcases a range of contemporary poetry, fiction, nonfiction and, for the first time, comics, with a piece from WA comics artist Nina Dakin. Contributors to 69.2 include Carrie Chappell, Nandi Chinna, Rashida Murphy, Julie Watts, John Kinsella, Pidj Flavell, James Salvius Cheng, Sharon Mesmer, Liam Byrne, Miriam Wei Wei Lo, Hannah McCann and many others. Westerly is also proud to feature the first part of a longer work by Tjalaminu Mia, ‘Milebaar wer-moora kadidjiny won-gin wadjella-warr’, that shares stories of resistance and resilience (with parts two and three appearing in the next print issues of Westerly to come).

Westerly 69.2 will be launched on Thursday, 1 May at 6:00pm, for a 6:30pm start, in the Fremantle Library. This will be followed by drinks and nibbles.

The launch will also be live-streamed for those unable to join us in person! If you wish to join us online, please register for online attendance, and details of the stream will be sent to your email.

Westerly 69.2 will be available for purchase on the night, and copies are also available for presale here: bit.ly/692Presale.
