PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care and end of life care.
Program Objective:
PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness.
The workshops are interactive and provide time for discussion through case presentations and examples (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).
Intended workshop audience: For health care professionals who have some understanding of grief and loss and wish to extend their skills and knowledge in this area. (Note: places are limited, and registration is essential).
Topics include: in depth understanding of grief and loss; supporting Aboriginal families during Sorry Business; workshops to explore creative interventions, including music and other memory making activities; Q&A with Vera Russell, Kids Cancer Centre Grief Counsellor; sustaining your wellbeing & job satisfaction in this work; overview of PEPA and placement opportunities.
