Westmead NSW-Creative Approaches to Grief & Loss in Paediatric Palliative Care

PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care and end of life care.

Program Objective:

PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness.

The workshops are interactive and provide time for discussion through case presentations and examples (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).

Intended workshop audience:  For health care professionals who have some understanding of grief and loss and wish to extend their skills and knowledge in this area.  (Note: places are limited, and registration is essential).

Topics include: in depth understanding of grief and loss; supporting Aboriginal families during Sorry Business; workshops to explore creative interventions, including music and other memory making activities; Q&A with Vera Russell, Kids Cancer Centre Grief Counsellor; sustaining your wellbeing & job satisfaction in this work;  overview of PEPA and placement opportunities.

• An email confirming registration to attend will be sent from HUMANITIX to participants advising that registration has been successful. 
• Please note, places are limited and registration is essential.
• TICKET issued in 'good faith' that you meet the necessary criteria/target group for this session. Those not meeting the criteria/target group will be contacted by PEPA NSW to cancel their ticket.
• Registration opens approximately 10 minutes prior to start time.

• if there are no vacancies available, you will be put on a 'waiting list'.  Should a spot become available the system will contact the next on the waiting list.  Those offered a spot must follow the instructions and register via the link within 24 hours or the spot will be offered to the next person on the list.
