PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care and end of life care.

Program Objective:

PEPA aims to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness.

The workshops are interactive and provide time for discussion through case presentations and examples (some aspects of the program may change due to circumstances beyond our control).

Intended workshop audience:  For  Allied Health Professionals who care for children or neonates with a life limiting illness and have experience in palliative care or have attended a SCHN Paediatric Palliative Care Day.  (At registration, please include previous experience. Note that places are limited, and registration is essential).

Topics include: principles of paediatric palliative care; care needs of a paediatric palliative patient and their family; communication; palliative care relating to patient age; care differences according to location (hospital,hospice, and home); the deteriorating and dying patient;  overview of PEPA and placement opportunities.

  • An email confirming registration to attend will be sent from HUMANITIX to participants advising that registration has been successful. 
  • Please note, places are limited and registration is essential.
  • TICKET issued in 'good faith' that you meet the necessary criteria/target group for this session. Those not meeting the criteria/target group will be contacted by PEPA NSW to cancel their ticket.
  • Registration opens approximately 10 minutes prior to start time.
