Postcode Wars: Understanding Local Experiences and Exploring Solutions

Join Youth Action for a free, interactive forum bringing together youth workers, local services and community organisations to explore the emerging issues and impacts of postcode wars across Western Sydney, and how we can better support young people through community-based responses.

We'll begin with a conversational panel of frontline youth workers from across the region, sharing what they're seeing on the ground, how these issues are playing out differently across local communities, and the challenges they face in supporting young people.

From there, we'll move into facilitated group discussions to share experiences, learn from each other and unpack the issues further. Together, we'll explore what's working, where the gaps are, and how we can strengthen local responses to better support young people, build connection and prevent harm.

We'll also look at opportunities for greater collaboration between services, practical solutions that can be developed locally, and where broader advocacy and policy change may be needed.

This will inform a second forum in early 2027, where we’ll bring together subject matter experts to share evidence-informed approaches and practical responses to the priority issues we collectively identify as needing further exploration and learning.

This is an opportunity to bring together the knowledge and experience of people working directly with young people, strengthen our collective understanding and identify community-led solutions.

It’s also a chance to come together, build connections and relationships across our local youth sector, share experiences and some food together.
