Description

Join us at Hindus for Human Rights ANZ for the online launch of renowned musician and author, T.M. Krishna's new book, We the People of India.

Hindus for Human Rights (HfHR) ANZ Chair, Dr. Shanti Raman will be in discussion with T.M Krishna about the new book, his musical journey, and the ways in which his work embodies art as resistance. The session, followed by a Q&A will be moderated by poet and author, Nandini Sen Mehra who also serves as Director, HfHR ANZ.

“We, the People of India: Decoding a Nation’s Symbols”, published by Westland in 2026, explores the historical, cultural, and philosophical contexts of India’s national symbols—the flag, the anthem, the emblem, the motto, and the Preamble, and reflects on how these symbols have shaped the nation’s ideas of citizenship, belonging, and democracy.

Hindus for Human Rights ANZ is a progressive human rights organisation guided by the Hindu values of satya (truth), nyaya (justice) and shanti (peace). We provide an alternative space for those who want to connect with culture, human rights, and faith, while rejecting all forms of discrimination, casteism and racism.
